Father Alexander Anderson is a character in Team Four Star's Hellsing Ultimate Abridged voiced by Hbi2k. A Catholic priest who serves as Iscariot's Alucard, for lack of a better term, by slaying creatures that defy God (and/or Protestant heathens). He considers his work "fun" and has a noble, albeit radical, moral code that clashes with both the Hellsing organization and Millennium. Unlike the original, he is shown to be borderline (if not completely) insane and relishes killing both Vampires and Protestants. His original Scottish accent in the anime is also replaced with an Irish accent in the abridged version.

In his first appearance, Anderson cuts off Alucard's head, attempts to kill Seras, is interrupted by Integra, and proceeds to kill two of her men and make a joke about leprechauns (which, ironically, is almost the same as one that Alucard had made earlier). When Alucard intervenes, Anderson promptly teleports away with a bunch of Bible pages.

Later when Maxwell and Integra are meeting, Alucard and Anderson immediately pull weapons on each other and both begin chuckling maniacally, evidently aroused at the prospect of a rematch, though Seras manages to ruin the mood by dragging a bunch of old people into the room, averting a fight that probably would've leveled the museum.

In Episode 5, Anderson appears and actually rescues Integra from the Nazis, as in the original OVA. however, unlike the OVA, he appears to be in command of Iscariot's operation, and refers to his assistants Heinkel and Yumie as an "Axis of Righteousness" (save the necessity of an Italian member, and referencing the WWII Alliance of Germany, Italy and Japan, the "Axis powers.") He also expresses a newfound attraction to Integra, finally understanding Alucard's own lust for her after seeing her fearlessly take on the horde of gun-armed Nazi vampires with just a sword. "No wonder Alucard wants to plow that Virgin soil! I'm thinking of planting some flowers myself!" He doesn't bring it up again, probably knowing that she doesn't reciprocate.

He confirms his love of killing when he and the Iscariot members express their purpose and mission as they engage the Nazis, concluding their statement as to why they must kill the enemies of the church with "And because it's Fucking FUN! Ahahahahahahaaaaaaamen!" He's also dealt cocaine before and at one point disguised himself as a priest before actually becoming one himself, if the line "Like coke after Lent!" and some lines of the song Alexander Anderson, an Alexander Hamilton parody, were to be believed.

In Episode 8 Anderson uses one of the nails that pierced Christ's body to stab himself, after stating that he forgives Alucard for everything he's said and done. This results in Yahweh being able to communicate with Alucard, apologize for the 10 years of rape (in theory; Yahweh does not apologize and simply claims to have a plan for everyone), and offer forgiveness himself, which Alucard refuses. Alucard then tears out Anderson's heart with the Nail still attached, stating that he will not allow another monster like himself to exist in this world. As he lays dying, Anderson makes a joke about Alucard stealing his heart (which causes Alucard to start crying), admits that Alucard was right about Boondock Saints being his favorite movie, and states that, while he hates Alucard, he understands him. He then offers to tell Alucard how he made peace with his own demons, only to be stomped to death first by Walter who claims that Anderson "Said 3 Hail Marys, ate my vitamins, fucked off and died, A-Men," enraging Alucard beyond mortal comprehension.

Trivia[]

  • He also states his favorite cereal is Frankenberries.
  • According to Alucard, he uses lines from Boondock Saints, where he later confirms in episode 8 that it is, in fact, his favorite movie. He often calls people 'heathens' and apparently likes calling people 'crazy Protestant bastards', as he called Integra this twice.
  • Like Alucard, Anderson also has a sense of immaturity, wondering if Leprechauns are filled with Lucky Charms and would spill them if he'd cut one with his bayonets. He appears in Episode 3 and 4 alongside Maxwell.
  • Between making the same dumb jokes about favorite cereals and leprechauns being filled with Lucky Charms, the same maniacal laughter at the thought of a fight to the death, and the same tendency to defy his master's orders on a whim, Anderson has a ridiculous number of similarities to Alucard. Indeed, it's likely that Alucard was exactly the same as Anderson back when he was alive, and a loyal, heathen slaughtering Catholic.
