"Frognapped!" is the sixth episode of HFIL.

Tagline[]

The burning question of "WHAT HAPPENED TO THE KEPTIN?!" is finally answered!

Plot Summary[]

Goz and Mez receive a message about someone coming to visit. Meanwhile, in the cul-de-sac, Cell has a confrontation with the Ginyu Force over the kidnapping of Captain Ginyu. Guldo stops time in order to check Cell's house, and when he can't find Ginyu anywhere, a fight ensues.

Despite no one being able to use their ki, Cell is still able to easily beat the Force thanks to all of the fighters that make up his DNA. The Ginyu Force then claim that while Guldo was in the house, he was planting bombs. Cell then counters by using his Self-Destruct Form, before the ogres come to break up the argument and chastise both parties for being out past curfew.

Both sides try to explain their reasoning, but Goz reveals the truth to the Ginyus, that Captain Ginyu had body-swapped with a frog. Due to combination of improving the Ginyu Force's mood with the belief their leader was with them and King Yama not wanting to admit he screwed up, they decided to leave things as they were. They realize that since the Ginyu with them in HFIL isn't their real captain, there is no reason to continue their feud with Cell, and both sides apologize for their actions. They initially dismiss the idea of finding him again, though Guldo angrily convinces them to keep caring for him as Guldo has grown close to the frog.

Cell reveals that Ginyu was being hidden in Super Kami Guru's stomach the whole time. The next morning, Freeza is awoken by a knock at the door. He orders Zarbon to answer it, but can't get back to sleep owing to all the noise the new guest has created. He heads to the dining room, preparing to tell them off, only to be greeted by his father, King Cold.

A post-credits scene shows King Yemma checking the real Captain Ginyu in the frog's body into the afterlife (while Jeice and the rest of the Ginyu Force incorrectly believe Ginyu is still alive in the frog body, unaware that Vegeta killed him almost immediately after the body-swap) . Though Ginyu tries to argue his case, Yemma can't understand him and simply orders him to be put through the soul-scrubber.

Running Gags and Callbacks[]

  • After its frequent use over the past two episodes, Mez suggests banning the word "bussy".
  • Jeice gets punched in the face in a matter similar to how Goku kept punching him in Stop! Celebrate and Witness, Goku's Back From 100X Fitness!
  • The Family Guy dead pose retuns again, this time performed by Burter.
  • Cell once again replaces the word "Hell" with the word "here" when he claims that The Ginyu Force made his afterlife "an unliving Here".
  • Guldo is revealed to have been correct in his assumption that Ginyu body-swapped with a frog from O Captain! My Captain!.
  • The jock-strap incident is mentioned again.
  • Guldo finally stands up for himself after being constantly belittled and ignored by the rest of the Ginyu Force.
  • The Ginyu Force only having Shasta is once again mentioned.
  • Raditz and Dodoria sneaking out at night is mentioned again, with Raditz claiming they were having sex, though Cell assumes he is simply lying to cover something else up.
  • Cell once again gives a condition for Raditz to be his friend, and again Raditz declines.
  • King Cold calling Freeza "princess".

Cultural References[]

  • Guldo references the song "The Purple People Eater" by Sheb Wooley when he refers to Forg-Ginyu as a "Bug-eyed, two-horned, leaping, purple people eater".

Cast & Crew[]

Trivia[]

  • The Ginyu Force are depicted without their Scouters in the episode's thumbnail.
  • Though they are both mentioned, neither Zarbon nor Dodoria make any sort of appearance in this episode, although Zarbon's panicking voice is heard (though muffled) at the end.
  • This is the first time King Cold has been seen since he was killed by Future Trunks in Cold Cuts. He is now voiced by series animator DevilArtemis after his original voice actor, Hbi2k left Team Four Star in 2019. His other character to appear in this series, Mez, was also recast for the first episode.
