Cell (セル, Seru), originally known as Jiren or alternately known as Future Cell, is the "ultimate" creation of Dr. Gero, who comes from a future timeline. Unlike the other androids who were built by Dr. Gero, Cell was instead completed by Dr. Gero's Super Computer, located in his sub lab in the basement.
Biography[]
Upon awakening from the remains of Dr. Gero's sublab, Cell proceeded to absorb a neighboring city in order to build his strength. As with his main timeline counterpart, he planned on traveling to the past through Future Trunks time machine to achieve his Perfect form after Future Cyborg 17 and Future Cyborg 18 were killed. However, Trunks, who learned about this from the Cell he fought in the past, prepared a trap for the biomechanical android by luring him to his time machine with the help of his mother. Upon revealing himself, Trunks quickly broke down everything he experienced in the other timeline, detailing his full knowledge of Cell's origin, ambitions and his ultimate defeat.
Confused, irritated and in disbelief, Cell quickly threatens Trunks and declares his intentions to use the time machine to travel into the past as his future counterpart did. Undeterred, Trunks lures the bio-android out of the city and effortlessly overpowers him. Pushed to desperation, Cell attempts to use the Kamehameha to take Trunks out, only for the latter to kill him with a Heat Dome Attack midcharge.

Trivia[]
- Future Cell quickly backs away from his declaration of him being "the only one who sucks around here.", by saying "That came out wrong." As the Cell met in the present day frequently included lewd implications and wordplay in his dialogue, this implies Future Cell had not yet developed his fondness for them.
- Trunks refers to Future Cell by name, who is both surprised and impressed with said name. The original Cell had only just decided on his name upon meeting Piccolo in the present, thus causing Trunks to create another time paradox.
- Cell mentions prior to receiving his name from Trunks, he was considering the name "Jiren", which he immediately mentions he "thought was boring too." This is a jab at the Dragon Ball Super character of the same name, whom many fans have openly criticized as being an uninteresting character and a flat antagonist.
- During Future Cell's death, there is a supercut version of his My Way Cover from Cell-Out, due to Future Cell having achieved nothing compared to his counterpart, thus leaving nothing to play during the song.
