"Turtle Turtle Wave" is the seventh episode of Buu Bits.

Tagline[]

Imagine DragonBall without them shouting their attack names.

It just wouldn't be the same.

Plot Summary[]

Goten and Trunks battle fiercely during the World Tournament. While Trunks is impressed, Goten is busy singing "Baby Shark" in his head. Trunks decides to turn up the heat by firing a ki blast at Goten. Gohan screams for Trunks to pull the blast up before it hits the crowd, which he does.

Realizing they are allowed to use "pew pews", Goten fires a "Kamekameha". Despite saying the name wrong, the attack still works leading Trunks to question why anyone bothers to say it at all. Gohan replies that it sounds cool, but gets heckled by Sharpner.

Running Gags and Callbacks[]

  • Goku is impressed that Gohan taught Goten how to dodge, something Gohan regularly struggled with.
  • Sharpner's line of "Oh, come on, he knows I love him. You know I love you." returns from Talk of the Town, as well as his mocking of "The Great Saiyaman"'s name, heavily emphasizing "The".

Cultural References[]

  • Baby Shark is a song originally released by The Pinkfong Company in 2016. In January 2022, it officially became the most viewed video on YouTube, as well as the first video on YouTube to reach 10 billion views.[1]

Cast & Crew[]

Trivia[]

  • In an alternate ending, Trunks doesn't pull the blast up and kills several audience members. Goku non-chlantly suggests they grab the Dragon Radar.
