Plot Summary[]
Before Vegeta goes to try and kill Majin Buu, he hugs Trunks for the first time in his son's life. Afterwards, Vegeta knocks out Trunks and Goten, before ordering Piccolo to take the two kids out of the area. Before Piccolo leaves, Vegeta asks the former if he will see Goku in heaven when he dies. Piccolo scoffs at the idea as he knows Vegeta will go to hell, which annoys the latter even though he knows it is true.
Vegeta confronts Buu and plans on killing the latter by hitting Buu hard enough with an energy attack so powerful, he will never regenerate his body. As Vegeta powers up for his suicide attack, he says farewell to Bulma, Trunks, and Goku, finally referring to the latter as his best buddy. Afterwards, Vegeta unleashes all of his power to try and kill Buu, sacrificing himself with only a distraught Krillin watching on.
Running Gags and Callbacks[]
- Vegeta's plan to "hit [Buu] really hard" is a callback to Cooler 2: The Return of Cooler's Revenge - The Reckoning where it is determined the best way to defeat Meta-Cooler is to hit him really hard, something Vegeta threatened to kick Goku in the dick over.
- Vegeta calls Goku "Best Buddy" for the first time. Goku previously called Vegeta by this nickname in Leave It To Freezer, Super Saiyan Swagger, Hyperbolic Plot Device, It's Been A Year If It's Been A Day, and the movies Cooler 2: The Return of Cooler's Revenge â The Reckoning, Super Android 13, and Broly the Legendary Super Saiyan
- Someone screaming "Vegeta, no!" and then Vegeta himself screaming "VEGETA, YES!" happened before in Plan to Eradicate Christmas and Cell-Out Part 3.
Deleted Scenes[]
- After calling Goku "best buddy", Vegeta utters "Nope, still hate it."
- At the very end of the short, the voice of the Narrator reappears "to tell you that... Vegeta fucking died."
Cultural References[]
- To Fucking Die is an expression that someone has definitively died or something not alive has suffered a terrible thing (e.g. a snowball being decapitated).
Cast & Crew[]
- Lanipator as Vegeta, Piccolo, Krillin
- Simon Robertson as Majin Buu
- Megami33 as Trunks
- Hnilmik as Goten
- LittleKuriboh as the Narrator (deleted scene)
Trivia[]
- This is the first episode of Buu Bits to not be released as a YouTube Short.
- This episode was released alongside an alternate take that slightly alters Vegeta's dialogue, censors two f-words, and adds one more comment from the narrator at the end.
- A piano version of the music from the original Japanese scene in the anime is used in the original scene, whereas the original rendition by Shunsuke Kikuchi is used in the alternate version.
- Vegeta calling Goten "Kaka-tot" was a suggestion of Lanipator.
